Farms.com Risk Management – What We Do

Farms.com is passionate about Agriculture. As a Company we have been active in agriculture for over 30 years, our people are largely individuals who were born into and have worked all their lives in some area of agriculture. Farms.com believes that the two most pressing service needs of Growers and Producers in the agriculture sector are Marketing and Price Risk Management.

To meet these needs Farms.com is currently providing and continues to develop:

  1. Smarter and easier to use marketing services that assist growers and producers in recognizing the wider range of marketing options that are available for their outputs.
  2. Easy to understand price risk management tools and services that help in reducing the impact of cyclical and seasonal down swings in the prices of they’re outputs.

Farms.com Risk Management is the Risk Management division of Farms.com. We recognize that there are two different categories of Risk that you face:

  1. “Yield” Risk – the risk that livestock or Crop revenue will be lost due to death caused by disease, accident etc, etc.
  2. “Price” Risk – threat that price at the point of sale will be lower than desired, expected or necessary to cover cost and generate profit.
Farms.com Risk Management is focused on the development of tools and services that address Price Risk.

Why Do We Care?

If you, our clients, are doing well then we are increasingly likely to do well. If you are losing money (or going out of business) in the long run we are certain to experience poor business performance.

Your progress and financial prosperity is necessary for our business health. If you, our clients are doing well, then we are likely to do well too. It’s that simple.
